I only own 1 song: Nikki D - Daddy's little girl. I've downloaded it. I'm trying to find that slow r&b song that they keep using throughout the movie. It goes like:

Baby growing up in a mixed up world
Papa giving up on everything but its girl

I hope I get my hands on that song soon...

For real. A friend of mine had suggested that maybe since this movie was done on such a low budget they didn't have any money for a soundtrack, but @ the end of the credits it says soundtrack available on... (I don't remember the record label) but I was hoping to find the soundtrack according to what it says at the end of the credits.

I've looked for this sdtrk for years and no such luck....but to find that song "mixed up world", look to ANGIE STONE. If you want to see the soundtrack listings, go to Epinions.com and it gives some detail but not much. Eric "vietnam" Sadler of Public Enemy and Willie Bruno II were the music composers and producers. ERG is the record label listed and I did a little research and if you go to the LIBRARY OF CONGRESS website, you should find more detail. In the mean time, I'll do my best to come up with something....

Well, I finally found the name and website of artist featured on sdtrk. The song playing in the background is "NOW IS THE TIME" performed by KIMBERLY DAVIS....her website is kimberlydavis1.voice123.com....I sent an email asking for this sdtrk and or song. When I get it, I'll send you the entire recording!!!!

not yet.....i'm still searching. there was a song and a video by the r&b group immature that played back in the day called "constantly". this version featured the video in black and white. i searched 15 yrs for that song and video and finally found the vido on youtube and actually found the rare remix on the internet. so, i will continue my search and hopefully soon deliver the goods.

i was on youtube and i saw that constantly video, if the quality wasnt choppy, i"d use TUBE-TILLA to get the sound if your super desperate, that mix has the best beat and chill tone to it, id use tube tilla, but itz so choppy i couldnt even get over the quality! thats why i love the 90's cant over it!...thats the only reason why i know this movie cause i was watching HBO or Prism when i want 4 or so and i loved the songdaddys litle girl, the only part i remember from then was her throwing up in the toilet!

I checked out the website http://kimberlydavis1.voice123.com/, and I remember that group "Ex-Girlfriend" that she was in. She could really sing, but I had no idea that it was her voice in the movie. I wonder whatever happened to that group. They had some tight songs.

Hey everyone,

I'm glad I wasn't the only one in search of that 'mixed up world' song that kept playing during the movie. I love that movie so much, especially that song. I saw this movie a while back, like in 1994. Not that I understood much then, but I liked the tone and for the simple fact that I was brought up in the projects, made this movie more enjoyable for me. I had the pleasure of receiving this movie as a gift for my 20th birthday, and was overwhelmed with memories of the 90's. How I wish to just pause everything, and relive it all over again. Anyway, I've had no luck finding that song, and it saddens me to know, that getting hold of a soundtrack is like looking for a needle in a haystack. If anyone has that song, email it to me, or at least tell me where I can get it. It's been YEARS and no luck. My email is [email protected]

no problem!!!!! the only song i don't have is kimberly davis "now is the time"....i've checked with the library of congress website and although it is listed, the soundtrack was released on audio cassette in limited quanity. i have the dvd but of course i'm still searching for that 1 song. keep your eyes and ears open!!!!

I too would also like any songs you guys have from the movie... I love the movie. I especially love the part when Chantal and Gerald were in the laundry mat and she was late for class. Wasn't he desperate or what? LOL!
