Was Chantel a virgin?

I always thought that she wasn't a virgin because she sure wasn't acting like one while they were having sex. In fact, to me, she looked too experienced for a 16 yr old. When she told Ty that she was only with him, I assumed that she was saying that at that particular time, she wasn't sleeping with anyone but him. However, after watching this movie recently (several years after I first saw it) something did catch my attention. Right before they were about to have sex for the first time, she tried to stop and he asked her if she was scared. I was wondering, if she was as experienced as I thought, why would he ask her that.

I don't think so for 3 reasons:

1) When she was taking the pregnancy test in the bathroom w/her friend Natette and it came up positive Natette says something about her telling Ty then she says "oh wait, or do you have to tell Tyrone". As close as she and Natette were before she got pregnant, seems like she told her everything so this hints that she'd told Natette her and Tyrone were having sex.

2.) When she and Tyrone were messing around in the laundry room, he had a condom in his pocket. If they were together why would he be carrying condoms if they weren't having and never had sex.

3.) Even though she was a little hesitant the first time her and Ty had sex, I thought it was due to her not being sure about her birth control not because she'd never had sex before. She seemed waaaaaaay to aggressive and experienced to have been a virgin w/Ty. Climbing on top of him, removing her clothes AND his.
