'Juice' vs 'Boyz n the Hood'...

Don't know if this topic of vs. has been brought up before. I want to see peep's opinions on these two classic tails. In my opinion, I grew up in New York so I relay more to "Juice", though Boyz n the Hood was an instant classic for me...I give Juice the over Boyz...it's more my style...anybody on which movie was better...I respect ALL opinions...peace...

Boyz n the Hood

John Singleton's portrayal of social problems in inner-city Los Angeles takes the form of a tale of three friends growing up together 'in the 'hood.' Half-brothers Doughboy and Ricky Baker are foils for each other's personality, presenting very different approaches to the tough lives they face. Ricky is the 'All-American' athlete, looking to win a football scholarship to USC and seeks salvation through sports, while 'Dough' succumbs to the violence, alcohol, and crime surrounding him in his environment, but maintains a strong sense of pride and code of honor. Between these two is their friend Tre, who is lucky to have a father, 'Furious' Styles, to teach him to have the strength of character to do what is right and to always take responsibility for his actions.

Vs.

Juice

4 Harlem teens, Q, Bishop, Raheem and Steel, are out skipping school one day when they find out an old friend was killed in a shootout at a bar. After this, Bishop tells his friends that they have no respect, or juice. To get some, they rob a corner grocery store, but the lunatic Bishop intentionally shoots the clerk for no apparent reason. They run into an alley where Raheem tells Bishop to give him the gun, they fight, and Raheem gets shot. Only the other 3 know what happened, and Bishop wants to get rid of them too.

I'll go with Juice because I prefer Omar Epps over Cuba Gooding, Jr. Cuba's overacting gets on my nerves. Epps is more laid back and real.

Boyz N The Hood for me

reply

so many black males have died indirectly cuz of those three films,

cmon this whole hip hop mentality leaves many in a state of perpetual childhood, thats why hip hop fails!!! real talk

reply

Nobody died because of these movies.in fact the crime rate has went down since the gangster rap and hood movie era

reply

Boyz but Menace II Society trumps both IMO.

reply

Crime went down because states at that time were passing, "Shall issue" concealed carry reform and now states are passing, constitutional carry reform to keep the hood rats in their place. Boom Shaka la!

Spoiler alert for them spoil sports out there! Y'all like spoiled milk, stop crying over it!
