Under-rated classic ! But why on earth is it an 18 ?

Definitely deserves a re-appraisal...a wonderful, inventive, FUN film, but I have no idea why this has an adult certificate. To me it's a kids movie for all ages somewhere between Monkey Magic & Indiana Jones. I know I would have gone as crazy for at 7 as I am at 27. A slight shame you can see exactly where the money ran out...a bit of a contrast betwixt the awesome flying shiruken camera bit and the rather shoddy looking city of gold ! Still lovely lovely lovely...great, loveable characters too ! Isn't there a PS2 game of this ?

8.5/10

I have no idea why it is an 18!

All I want to know is who it is who plays the painted amazon type girl who has a slapping match with Pistol Lilly in the wooden cage!?

**EDIT**
Ok...kinda seeing why it's an 18 now!
What with cactus shaped swords being slowly pushed through people, hands cut off and Hanzo tearing his own stomach open, feeding his hand up into himself and breaking off one of his own ribs! Could kinda explain why it's an 18 8o)

Just in case you still want to know....

That's Michiru Akiyoshi.

Today she's known as jazz singer Monday Michiru: http://www.mondaymichiru.com/

AFAIK, after several movies
she quit acting and has concentrated on music.

I was wondering why it's an 18 ... 10/10 I say it's an instant cult classic

... completly disagree with that review, its nothing like Red Shadow

why is it rated 18, well in the first fight scene Jikogu kills 116 people, (he kills 146 in total), by my count it is second only to the final lone wolf and cub movie for kills by a single character
