Really good and a teensy bit dissapointing.

Good comedy, good story, most of the action is well done.but some of the action was not really jackie style. quite a bit of gun use and some fights are not very impressive like the fight on the train. michelle sometimes seemed to do more MA than jackie. but jackie really does great in the demo fight and the prison fight. it is a good movie and you should see it.

It was great, not disappointing at all.

I think this movie has awsome fights and stunts. I like that theres some gun fights in it, jackie Chan is too much of a clown in hes last American movies. All in all this is one of the best Jackie Chan movies ever made.

Only Drunken Master 2 comes close i think.

What made it more fun was finding out how competitively Jackie and Michelle argued for bigger and better stunts. Did you know that Michelle wanted to do the rope ladder jump but was overturned by Stanley Tong? He said "If I let you do that, then what is he going to do? You know he'll have to outdo you." So she ended up doing the motorcycle jump, made more incredible since she didn't know how to even ride a motorcycle, much less stop one (in an interview she said the only way she knew how to stop was to crash).

She was KICK-ASS!

Well, he clowns around a lot in his Asian martial arts films as well; and he's charming as ever in THE SPY NEXT DOOR, even though it's a terrible film.
I don't mean to impose, but I am the Ocean.

the highlight of the film if you ask me is the fight scene with Jackie Chan about 15minutes into the film. but besides that there is some generally good action later into the film with Chan/Yeoh but as others have said the gun play was a bit out of the norm for Chan basically.

so all-in-all... i liked the film overall, but it's nothing great by any means.

i give it a 6.5-7/10

It's certainly good but not one of my favorite Jackie Chan movies. There's just not enough of his usual style of fighting. The highlight of the movie to me was early on when he fought a soldier in the academy. Afterwards there's too many gun battles. Of course the stunts are still incredible.

You're right. It's one of Jackie's Hong Kong-made movies that had an acceptable script. If it would have the same fight scenes as his self-directed movies (pre-1991) it would be one of his best - if not the best - flick. Too bad there are no typical Jackie Chan fight scenes, except for the demo fight with the red shirt guy which doesn't even end properly.

For me it was really disappointing and a teensy bit decent.
