Roast cat with string beans???


i'm not sure if anyone caught that...it's when they all go to the restaurant together and Khan tells Chan to order something and he says roast cat with string beans? i couldn't believe it...i didn't think that asians in that period ate cat...kinda shocked me a bit

Haha, yeah we watched it tonight and I was like what the hell did he just say?? And my brother was like "cat". So I went back to double check and then we died laughing when we replayed it.

The version I just saw on Film 4 said terrapin soup.

In the new HK blu-ray, it's "cat civet with turtle organs".

It's a subtle insight into how Ka-Kui really feels about the mainland chinese and their backward ways.
What sells the joke is Yuen Wah's character replying with "Awesome, I'll have one as well", thus proving the stereotype true.
