The Weird Sepia-Tone Tint...

They really need to upgrade the prints of this movie if its gonna be repeated so much on VH1, TV-One, BET, Centric and whatever channels it airs on. The dark tint and weird brown/orange sepia-tone faded print makes it look real bad and hard to watch. The movie looks alot older than it is when I see it on television most of the time.

I've always noticed the tint as well, but it doesn't really bother me. I thought movies were tinted like that back in the early 90's. I was 6 back in 1992 when it premiered, so I could be wrong, but it seems like when I watch movies from back then the tint looks different. I know TV shows tint didn't look like that, well "Family Matters" tint always looked kind of dull to me back then compared to "The Cosby show" the last few seasons, "A different world" last few seasons, "Sister Sister" and "Hangin' w/ Mr. Cooper. "full house" and other shows that were out in the earlier 90's. I remember "Step by Step" had a duller tint to it too.

I think because of the era of which the film reflected 1940's thru 1980's the dull-sepia tone was made part in the making. I don't see nothing wrong with the tone, personally I think it adds a special effect.

Later in the film (1980's) it does appear less dull though, IMO
