I would have been going in there after Joseph with a weapon if I was Kat

Seriously, I wouldn't care if it was my husband and that was his child too, if someone was beating my child with a belt and I could hear it I wouldn't just be sitting there crying and whispering "That's enough Joseph, that's enough". I would have grabbed a knife, baseball bat, something and go in there and put an end to it pretty damn quick. There's a difference between child abuse and punishment and that was child abuse. So what if the time period was different and hitting your kids was normal if they did something wrong? For it to be that severe it should have been put to an end by somebody. If she could whip his ass after cheating on her then she could have been a mother and done more than that during the belt beating

Indeeeeeeed, and what's just as sick is how today she denies they got beaten, saying they only got whipped, really? ONLY getting whipped is enough to make you scream at your husband 'you're gonna kill him, you're gonna kill him'? Somebody should've killed that abusive POS sperm donor long time ago, and violently.

I know this is old but I just saw it somewhere else. It struck a chord with me.
All she could do on MJ's behalf was holler...stop Joe, you're gonna kill him.
If she really thought that....she should have intervened.

But Michael adored her.

In those days, the mom wouldn't intervene when the dad was disciplining the children no matter how harsh his discipline was. I wouldn't matter if Michael adored her like he did or hated her like he hated his dad. She did put her foot down once the boys were older & Joe was about to beat one of them for the towel in the pool incident.
