I didn't like it.

The fact they had all these "mixed race" kids playing them dark ass Jackson's. Michael having a pet rat named Ben even tho it was from movie.they didn't show how many places they got chased out of. I didn't like it, my kids love it.

Well, you have to remember that the Jacksons have some mixed heritage as well. And as for Michael's rat, he was never called Ben, but "Mister Rat".

Intelligence and purity.

reply

The original Jackson's have no mixed heritage until they started having kids and changing colors.

reply

Yes, they do. Joseph has green eyes, and I believe Katherine has a Chinese grandfather.

reply

Nope not to make the color of kids in film. The Jackson's were all dark. Sorry.

reply

And so were the kids in the film, as far as I could see.

Intelligence and purity.

reply

No they were mixed.not dark color at all

reply

Jason Weaver (preteen Michael) wasn't mixed at all. Heck, he's darker than the actual Michael ever was. Same for Monica Calhoun (Rebbie).

Am I the only one who sees the absurdity of this post?

I think he/she is talking about the younger guy who played Michael and Marlon. Then Terrance Howard and the guy who played adult jermaine is mixed and light skin.

I love this movie but I do agree that there were definitely some bad casting choices. Especially with the biracial kids as young Michael and Marlon. Those kids weren't singing nor could they dance well so they were really just brought on for the cute factor. That casting was way off. Now the other two actors who played Michael were outstanding of course. The boy who played teenage Marlon was also great.

Also, I hated the casting for adult Jermaine.
