How in hell did 'In the Soup' win top prize at sundance????

Atrocious. Absolutely Atrocious. How this ever won top prize at the 92 sundance festival is beyond me. Over reservoir dogs?? were the screenings judged by a group of 5th graders that year??

This is absolutely one of the worst movies in cinema history. Maybe the all time worst. God was this awful.

Did someone miss their nap mister?

I lose all respect for someone when they say, "Worst movie ever!" You sound like the Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons.

This isn't better than Reservoir Dogs but it definitely has heart and humor. The leads roles do a wonderful job and this movie deserves more praise but never will which is a shame.

The only thing I ask of you is please let me keep the honer of "worst of all time". If another film starts to claim that place just turn it off. All of us that made it put too much love and effort in it to take the position of 2nd worst of all time. -ALEX ROCKWELL

A few months after I made this thread, I embarked on my feature film debut. It was... an insane experience. I feel like a jerk now, because I know how hard it is to try to get your vision across, to try and make a movie, and for someone to blast you like that? Its heartbreaking. For what its worth, I admire the fact that you keep on going with your ideas, even when times are tough.

Insane experiences are what you have to deal with. Just get up and get on the horse again-AR

Yeah, but how? How do you just get up, dust yourself off and start over again? Whats the point? If you've struggled in the past, why go through that pain and suffering again? What for? I feel like such a loser now, such a failure, why make myself go through that again? I love filmmaking, but if it ends up unfulfilling and making me a laughingstock in front of other people, is there really a point to it? And how long do you keep going before saying, enough of this, I have to try something else? Granted, I'm very young and this is my first feature, but its still very frustrating when you've spent a year working on something and it doesn't come out the way you envision it to. I don't know, maybe I'm just babbling, and in that case, I apologize.

Maybe you're just bad at filmmaking? Sorry, I had to mention it. But it could be the truth, it's not made for everyone. It doesn't appear to be the right choice for Rockwell, based on his resent unsuccessful attempts. It comes down to the writing - and I discovered watching 13 moons 10 minutes ago that that film was doomed from the start. There's usually a good reason that "Nobody wonts your film". I myself funded for 20 grand of my own mone a film and it turned out "alright" and I was happy with it but no company has picked it up because it's JUST "ALRIGHT". A film should be amazing and tell a STRONG, CLEAR story - and this is obvious from the script. 13 moons (which i downloaded, I couldn't even FIND a torrent for In The Soup) had a *beep* script and you could hear and see that from every scene following the opening credit sequence. You can put all the blood, sweat and tears into a film but if it's a crap story it will be a crap film.
