Why was the bathtub in the same room as the bed?

Well, who puts the bathroom and the bedroom in the same room?
Or did I miss something there?

Never heard of an "en suite"?

it is actually pretty common in a lot of higher end homes - and in one room shacks

Well, I would rather there be a wall between them.

En suite is not "in" suite. Unless you're living in a really cruddy place (or your Gwyneth Paltrow) you're tub and your bed are not going to be right next to each other. In fact I still don't get this new obsession people (Paltrow for example) have with putting the tub in the bedroom. It's bizarre. Call me old fashioned but I like my bathroom and my bedroom to be separated by a door (or at least if it"s one of those houses where there isn't a door, in a separate connected room).

You're old fashioned. Just because you "don't get it" doesn't make it "bizarre".

This will be the high point of my day; it's all downhill from here.

At first I thought it was that she was being quirky and wanted to put a bed in the bathroom. Then I noticed that there wasn't a toilet or a sink.

Something about it just feels a bit unsanitary! And walking around on carpet after a bath sounds very odd!
