where's amy

why did they only have amy in 1 like 1 scene in the very beginning. i know she was going away to college but i still felt it was weird that her part was so small in this movie.

I'm not 100% sure on this but my guess would be..

taht this was a reworked script of a movie originally called "Big Baby" Which was not at all related to the first Honey, I shrunk the Kids film. So in a way I think her part was just written into the movie to at least give some familiarity and have it in the same universe but there was really no place to have her in the movie as it was and that is why you see her there at the blip at the begining and never again.

That would be my guess but it was a shame that she was just a cameo moment in the film. She did make the first film that much better and they could have found something for her to do here. But I suppose if they had her around then we never would have gotten Mandi the babysitter involved and that was an important element too. So there just really wasn't any place to put her would be my guess with the way the original script was done.

I didnt remember seeing Amy on this movie, i was shocked, She was HOT!!!

At the beginning, when she went away to college, she said goodbye to Wayne and Nick but she didn't say goodbye to Adam. How do you like that?

reply

Mandy the babysitter wasn't really needed though. It could have just been Nick and Amy babysitting Adam in the film.

reply

Agreed. Mandy's role could have been reworked to accommodate Amy instead. Plus, superfluous characters, such as Amy in this particular instance, are a sign of poor screenwriting. A good sequel brings back as many characters as possible whilst still giving them something significant to do. Then again, as previously mentioned, the screenplay for this film was originally an entirely unrelated story.

Amy definitely should have been around more.
