How was it scary? A lot of people have said that and I just don't get it. I always watched this movie with my cousins when I was little and it never crossed my mind to be scared. Other movies did scare me, that didn't scare other people though. *shrug*

i was 11 when this movie came out and i loved it, obviously if we lived in a lord of the flies environment during that time i would've been leader of all of you

reply

Believe it or not I was 4 too...born in 88, and I just saw a Preview of it, and in it you saw the parents in the house running from a giant Chucky ( at least thats what I though it was haha)

reply

I saw it at a drive-in when I was like 3. I remember not enjoying it. My mother said I kept asking to leave. I'm assuming it was because something about it scared me but I don't remember what.

It scared me too as a kid, but I remember what it was.

I guess when Adam was hit by the "Enlarge Ray", it took a picture of him and the stuffed bunny. The scientists look over it later in the movie when they're trying to figure out what happened.

For some reason, I couldn't tell what that picture was, so to me, it looked like a deformed creature with a creepy eye. It really scared me when I was a child.

But now, it's not so bad.

You're all a bunch of scaredy cats lol!! I guess that's because you were so young when it came out and didn't understand anything that happend in the movie.

reply

I really enjoyed this, can't remember being scared of it. I remember everyone I knew preferred Honey I Shrunk The Kids, but I definately preferred this one!

I just read the replies here and I'm still not understanding. What exactly from this movie scared people? I'll admit I didn't see it as a kid but as a teenager but its such a cheesy, silly, Disney movie and its rated PG but is almost a G movie its so tame. I don't even know what would scare a kid in this.

The only thing I can think of is the danger either Adam puts his brother and the babysitter in while he is playing with them as toys or when the military is called in to shoot at Adam. But are these really scary things?

When Adam is zapped at the lab and they are analyzing the three eyed picture due to the bunny being zapped too? Is that the moment? But when you realize that it was just Adam got enlarged what would still scare you? I'm sorry I just think the people scared as kids of this are easily frightened and should avoid movies all together if this fluff scared you even at that age.

I read the whole thread and no one really mentions what scared them. I realize you guys were young kids at the time and may not remember. But watching a giant kid have fun and doing as he likes and looming over all, should be something all kids at that age enjoyed and wish they were doing at the moment, not have been scared of.

Sheesh.
