I always wondered, how did they....

get the kid(s) who played Adam to cry when the "bad guy" shot the guitar with the tranquilizer dart causing him to cry in pain. That is seriously the best part of the movie. I always wondered how they got him to cry like that because it seems pretty genuine.

My guess is he really was crying for whatever reason and they filmed that and used that moment. They were twins so if one of the kids was for real, upset during filming and he was wearing said clothing.. film it and go with it on the blue screen. It looked too real not to be him really upset and crying. But then again they have ways to have actors and kids cry and make it look real.

My guess is it was one of the kids was really upset and they filmed it. For all we know the real scene didn't call for to have the kid cry but since he did they went with it. I know some moments were added in due to the unpredictable nature of the kids during it.

I hope it wasn't something like they gave one of them a toy and took it away and caused him to cry. That would just be cruel if this wasn't acting or a random event.

I know I always wondered that to it me crying and feeling sorry for Adam. One of my favorite scene from the movie.

Me too probably nothing big, no pun. It is also my favorite scene from the film, the saddest but most touching. The way he cries then the previously fleeing from fear crowd standing still and looking on with much compassion and teary eyes, and he looking down at the crowd. His gigantic mother then telling the people im the plane to back off amd comforting home. Very moving scene, very powerful, but it is one of those moments that you want to reach through the set and hold the character tightly. It is worse since he is a toddler. If he was a teenager or an adult, then the scene would probably have had a much different impact.

Mean people suck! Nice people rule!
