Adventures in Babysitting reference?
Both movies have a scene where a kid has to escape from a criminal trying to catch them by climbing down a rope alongside a tall building. And both were directed by Chris Columbus.
shareBoth movies are about kids lost in the big city in the winter and dealing with dangerous adult criminals.
There's also the scene in which the kids almost run into their parents at the fancy party which recalls--or rather is recalled by--the Plaza scenes in HA2.
