Marv Character Change

In the first movie Marv is much more grounded as an typical loser turned burglar. Sure he is a little goofy by nature but for the most part he's normal.

In HA2 he is a complete goofball almost like a cartoon.

Anybody else notice this change? The same director and writer from the first movie so I wonder if this is just the direction stern wanted to take. Or if he was suffering from some brain damage from the first movie paint can and iron.

Just thought it was a little strange since all the other characters are pretty much the same. Or if the studio wanted the bad guys tamed down a little more and just couldn't get Pecsi do much else different.

He went to jail

I didn’t notice as I thought he was crazy in the first too by letting loose that they were the wet bandits.

On the plus side, Marv did have the strongest head in the world. How many people can take 5 bricks thrown on their head from the top of a building and walk away like it's nothing in 2 minutes?

I noticed that also and starting with HA2 that seemed to be the only character that Daniel Stern played, the bumbling nitwit (which carried over into Rookie of the Year and Bushwhacked). What I find interesting though is the guy actually can direct (he directed Rookie of the Year and several episodes of The Wonder Years).

They didn't use a stunt double for the bricks. That's the only character he could play after that.
