Ally Sheedy plays the woman working the airport desk in New York who tells Kevin which city it is.

Was this a cameo for her, or had her career really slowed down so much by the time this film was made?

It was cameo that she made a appearance in but not sure if her career slow down but you can just look it up on imdb.com

Perhaps "slowed down" was a poor choice of words.

This is entirely subjective, but I've heard of and seen about half of the films in which she appeared in the ?80s, and then after about ?88 there's a lot of TV shows and TV movies, none of which I've seen.

I guess it is a poor choice of words, but don't I believe your safe, I don't believe a lot of celeries even look at the imdb.com boards

In the trivia it states that Ally Sheedy was originally considered to play Kate McCallister but she was busy on something else. So this was just a mutual favor between her and John Hughes
