Peter's wallet

WHY would you get on an airplane without your wallet?

reply

If you had paid attention you would see that he didn't realize he didn't have it on him until the officer asked him for a picture, he reached to his back pocket and realized his wallet was not on him. Actually paying attention to movies would keep movie boards from being bogged down with useless questions that can be easily answered by just simply watching the movie.

A much shorter way to answer OP's question is: Kevin's dad is an idiot. He lost his kid twice, and now his wallet that had thousands of dollars and his credit cards.

How about this would you want to be called an idiot and how is is fault, first of all the first movie they lost their power and the second movie, Peter took the plug out of the socket to the clock, and forgot to reset it, or maybe through Kate was. Second of all, how could he have technically lost Kevin twice, when they knew in the first movie that he was home alone. How do you lose somebody or something if you know where they or the thing you lost are at?

So what else is new?

Well am not going to be harsh like tinkerbells_sweetheart did by saying useless questions, but if you noticed that he realized his wallet was in his bag. And the McCallisters were in a big hurry, too much that Peter didn't think to stop to check that he had his wallet in his pocket.

The wallet was in his backpack. He knew Kevin took the backpack to look for batteries when they arrived at the airport, but forgot about it afterwards.

Thanks for the summary, but we've all seen the movie already. 

It's actually a good question and something that kind of irks me every time I watch this movie. Who the hell puts their wallet in their bag? The whole point of a wallet is to be able to have cash, credit cards, ID, etc on you. Which are all things you might need in an airport.

The obvious answer is that it's a plot device so Kevin can have a credit card. But no, it doesn't make much sense from Kevin's dad's perspective. Whether he was in a hurry or not, it would've taken him all of one second to put his wallet in his pocket.

What does he need his wallet for on the plane? It's not like there's strippers everywhere.
