Duncan's Toy Chest.

Ever since I was young I thought this has to be the worst toy store ever. In the movie they act like its a kid's dream store, But I always thought it looked more like an arts and crafts store with nothing a kid would actually want to play with (at least for me at that age). Just a random thing that always bugged me.

Agreed! Where are the G.I. Joes, Transformers and Nintendo games!

To see the only real monster, one must only look in the mirror.

I thought it looked fabulous when I was younger. In fact, when I went to FAO Shwartz, I was quite disappointed to find out that it WASN'T the same as the store in the movie.

In 1992 I was about Kevin age 10 years old. I never went to New York and seen Duncan Toy Chest store to what else is in the store, but from the movie it look like a bunch of toys for kids under from maybe 5 on down. I'm a female but at 10 I still played with barbies somewhat I probably would have been interested in the video games like game boy or sega.

reply

Most 10 year olds are long past the age of wanting to play with toys, especially toys like the ones being sold in that store.

reply

Bullcrap. 10 year olds still love toys!

I always wanted that candy dollhouse Marv was hiding in, except I wanted it to be real, lol!

reply

I wouldn't, there's no bathroom in it.

That's funny. I always felt the exact same way. Great movie though.

If anyone can remember the tiny Kay-Bee's toy stores one would find in a shopping mall, it puts Duncan's to shame.

The kid in me still misses Kay-Bee's toys :(

oh yeah! that place rocked!

Though to be fair, it's probably because they actually filmed that scene in the real FAO Schwarz.

I always felt the same way about Duncan's Toy Chest. It looks more like an antique shop than an actual toy store.

"Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium" - a movie about a toy store - was another movie that featured a toy store with a lousy selection.

ya that was a lame sissy store
turtle doves?? ROFL

Lol, I totally thought so too as a kid. To me it looked more like a toy museum than a toy store. None of the stuff in there looked interesting, in fact because it was Christmas season, it looked more like a store you go to to get decorations. :P
