As Kevin was just a kid in the timeline of Home Alone 1 and 2, he wouldn't be legally in trouble.

He didn't commit any crime in the first movie. Setting up his home as a boob trap playground for burglers is more of a defence than an attack - remember this was a 8 year old boy left home alone verses two violent criminals.

For the second one? Still he didn't commit a crime. Yeah, he got lost in the airport while setting up his recorder, but he was still just a kid, not even in high school yet, so please give him the benefit of the doubt.

OK, as for setting up his relative's home for the burglers... sounds a bit over-the-top but then again he was helping the Toy Store, which were in turn helping disadvantaged children, so he was basically helping out to the best of his creative abilities.

I guess the only crime he committed was checking into a hotel alone, but hey, he was just a kid, still underage, and it was the hotel's responsibility to identify him and take him to his family.

He tried to get his cousin to smoke cigarettes, he threw a dummy off a bridge and onto the highway, causing a massive pileup... multiple attempted murders. He also drowned his younger brother.
