Chevy Chase

Why wasnt Chevy credited in being in this film??

He has big role too...

reply

Maybe Chevy Chase didn't want to get credired. It is called a cameo role.

(I guess only Chevy Chase and few others know for sure *g*)

reply

He had enough scenes and lines that I wouldn't call it a cameo. But I thought he was awful in it.

reply

It has been more than 10 years when I saw Hero last time.. So I really can't remember what kind of role he had..

Anyway - Perhaps Chevy Chase can still call it a cameo..
I would be surprised if an actor like Chevy Chase would be uncredited by mistake.

I agree. He must've been on screen for at least 40 minutes. I am not even the biggest Chevy Chase fan, but he deserves credit for his role in this movie. Was he embarrassed of the film and wanted his name taken off the credits? This is probably one of his best films he has ever been in. He should've took his name off the credits off "Snow Day," if it was about saving himself from humiliation.

reply

I have heard that Chevy Chase has a big ego (not to offend any Chevy Chase fans) so he probably wanted to keep his presence a surprise rather than take 4th billing.

I'm really into medieval porn right now.

"What's a crap of *beep*

said Chevy in the end.

reply

I could be wrong here but are you confusing Chevy Chase with Stephen Tobolowsky? He played James Wallace the Channel 4 Station Manager in the movie. I thought it was Chevy Chase too, but on watching the movie a second time, I took a closer look. I don't think CC was in the credits; even a cameo appearance would show CC in the credits.

reply

I'm watching the movie as I type this. It is 100% Chevy Chase... but I came here to talk about what a crappy performance he gives. Trying too hard to sound like the newsmen in the old screwball comedies of the 40's.

reply

Sometimes actors don't like to be credited, for whatever reason. For instance, Kathleen Turner provided the speaking voice for Jessica Rabbit in WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT? but she's not credite even though it's an important secondary part. *shrug*

reply

Both Stephen and Chevy are in this movie.

In his official biography (written by Rena Fruchter) he says that it's him. Mystery solved. He chose not to be credited, which he later regretted because rumors were that he was to be nominated for an Academy Award as best supporting actor. (The book is called «I'm Chevy Chase... And You're Not». Highly recommended to all Chevy Chase fans. And to all those crazy Chevy Chase haters.)
