We watched this very nice movie today. The ending is really good!
The first thing my wife said when she so James Madio - Joey Laplante, Bernie's Son that he looks like he is Andy Garcia's son.
It is a very odd casting indeed.
Did anybody else think of that?

I think what zumrat2000 means is that he looks a bit like Andy Garcia, so you'd assume he was Andy Garcia's son in real life if you didnt know otherwise.

The casting of the actor as Joey, as Bernie's son, was absolutely terrible. He's very dark-skinned unlike Hoffman and Cusack, it's the biggest mistake in this movie, the only one I can think of. But it's a glaring one. He looks nothing like Hoffman.
Kid also couldn't act well at all. The part where he comes in announcing how the hero had one shoe is wooden as can be. Incredibly terrible choice for Bernie's son.
