I got this for Christmas.....
My cousin and I gave each other our Christmas gifts early and she gave me this on DVD. She knows how much I love D. B. Sweeney and I had not seen this movie yet. So she got it for me. I love the movie.

It's corny as hell, and terrible, and I love it. Grew up in a basketball freak family and this is one of those movies we would watch when I was little. Truth also played Hank Gathers about a year after this movie.
shareYou mean Victor Love played Hank Gathers in Final Shot: The Hank Gathers Story after this film. Both films are pretty bad. I can see why Jorday didn't want to be in it. With the right director and right cast it could have been decent. You'd be better off watching the games at Ruckard Park then watch either of these films. Bo Kimble can ball. but he's no Michael Jordan and he's not a great actor. He doesn't say much in this film at all.
Want a decent B-Ball movie? See Above the Rim, Hoop Dreams, Glory Road, He Got Game, Coach Carter or Hoosiers. Even "The Air Up There" is better then this mess.
