Solomon could say this to Claire at the end

He could say something like "well Claire I earned your respect and all I had to do was save your life and your child's. Now if every retarded black man could do the same, you'd be set.

reply

Yeah, she and Michael fired him because he was black. Amazing how it took months for them to notice that. In your mind then, even if someone suspects a worker is abusing the children, they should be kept around if they're black?

1. Stealing a kids underwear is kind of creepy I admit but I think legally that would qualify as petty theft, a misdemeanor and not a sex crime.

2. How did the family suddenly know that he was NOT a sicko? Unlike the viewers of the movie they did not know the crazy nanny had planted the underwear on the guy. Even though he showed up to save them at the last minute which I am sure they are grateful for it does not prove he was not the sicko with a little girl's underwear fetish.

I'm sure Claire put it together herself that Peyton had lied. And yeah, keeping someone's undergarments shows a very clear ugly obsession with them.

reply

If I remember correctly, Peyton had already "planted the seed" in Claire's mind that Soloman was doing something wrong. Then she sent Claire to look in his toolbox and find the panties.

Of course Claire, being unable to focus, think anything through rationally, or even question it immediately started huffing and puffing and thinking the worst.

reply

She didn't think anything was the worst until she found the underwear and reacted like countless mothers would.

reply

Most mothers would be able to breathe. And would listen when their daughter said she wasn't afraid of the man. Most likely would even ask the child if he did anything.

But not Claire. I guess that would have taken too much time from her hobby.

reply

I don't think her asthma affects her judgement. Besides, I think she believed he was planning on doing something and maybe got somewhat inappropriate, but hadn't done anything yet.

reply

It's clear that she could not think anything through. And the moment there is even a hint of a crisis, she can't breathe.

But again - she didn't even ask her daughter. Not even when the child told her she wasn't afraid.
