the special f/x in this movie are so ridiculously cheesy even though it came out about the same time as jurassic park (1993)? wtf?

it came out in 92, Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla came out in 93. And the film actually had quite a high budget after the success of Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah. Also, just because a film uses suits and puppets rather than CGI doesn't make the special effects bad, which seems to be the assumption of most people these days.

Let's face it, all the Creature Feature movies, especially the now cult classic Japanese ones, are a bit cheezy when you think about it.
