this movie is wonderful.

i had to comment because there were no other comments beside the negative review above. I discovered this movie same as the person in the review but i hold it to be one of my greatest discoveries. I think the movie is fantastic. An absolute delight. I find it halarious the whole way through and relate to many aspects of it. The dialogue is incredible and deliverd perfectly. I love the cinematography as well, being simple yet creative. I really do love everything about this movie.
I do however think this movie is very different, very original, and many won't like it simply because it's not their kind of humour. Or simply because they don't get it. Everyone has their own opinion of what is pretentious. I think many would believe this film is. I however do not. I think it's dead on. It's in my top 20, no question about it. Give it chance, there's no harm in that.

I've always liked it, too. I have a soft spot for it for sure.

I was just thinking about this movie again today with stuff going on in my life and in the world. I am amazed my review is still up in the comments. Boy it makes me feel old when I look back at that date from the summer of 2002!

As far as I can see since I still have all the cable channels,it hasn't been replayed really much if at all since that year. I was hoping Blockbuster On-line would have it but they don't. Now I see according to IMDB the reason is because it's not been put on DVD. It's still in print but only on VHS.

I fear that this movie and others I like that aren't on DVD format yet may never get there because of lack of demand.

i loved this film too. chanced upon it i think. so long ago now i cant exactly remember, but its stayed in my mind so that says something no? dont know if time either will be kind to this film and it'll garner some kind of cult following or something. be rekindled and held up as worthy of attention. to much to ask for anything more than a cult following i think but i'll tell you too that i think it was nietzsche that something about great works are made for the few and not the many and with that in mind we should be grateful this film was made at all as it seems of such minority interest. i wonder what the people controlling the purse strings saw in it to commission it. i wonder if its the same thing i see or something other?

This film is just delightful. It has some of the BEST lines i have heard. I mean "He compared the bible to a badly xeroxed chain letter"
"He said the rotation of the earth made him nauseous"
"If heaven is in the stars and the stars are made up of the same atoms as we are, then we, are heaven."
