Eh... The wires screwed him up that badly. But I don't think he is guy, he is just Robin Williams.

LOL! jsut kidding! Yeah, he was a bit annoying after a while (the rap still haunts me to this day).
His sexuality was the last thing on my mind because nothing is revealed about it... for all we know he could be asexual. He's simply just a funny character, and definitely one of my favorites in the movie.

shareFunny, I rewatched FernGully on YouTube, and Batty doesn't seem gay. At the beginning the movie, it seems to me as though he liked Crysta; and I do mean, liked liked. (0_o) I won't say anything about that pairing if you won't...yikes...
If anything, he's just a really dramatic, crazy bat.

I can see where you're coming from. He has absolutely no reason to keep following Crysta and kept trying to keep her away from the humans. But still, yeah, he hasn't really shown one way or another what way he swings. XD Or whether it's both. Or neither. It wasn't on the writers' to-do list. You're right. He's pretty much just a dramatic, crazy bat. They didn't really have much point for him to be anything but the comic-relief and the guy to get Crysta and co. out of trouble (Batty Koda, the unsung hero! How many times would the little "faerie-bug" and Zak be slaughtered or crushed without this little guy? XP) aaand the voice of reason in his nutty way.

I love Robin Williams, but that doesn't make Batty gay. He kinda reminds me of Donkey from Shrek and Elliot from Open Season cause they got that random personality. And I definality know for sure he likes Crysta as a caring friend. There ain't nothing past that!
