Quirky, offbeat and fantastic!

What a film! Has elements of A Clockwork Orange , If and any old English boarding school epic. The acting, especially Crispin Glover (Fra-t-er-nize) is brilliant. I was introduced to this classic last year and am forever greatful. It's one of my favourites. By the way, I think Professor Pimco is the long lost identical twin of P.R Deltoid from A Clockwork Orange.

yeah, that's great that you like Ferdy. I have read most of his novels which are better than the movie. Gombrowicz is so brilliant that sometimes it's too much for me

As a matter of fact Ferdydurke was written in 1937 and Clockwork Orange in 1962 - which one could be inspired by which?...
