worst tom cruise movie ever?

I think in retrospect, Cruise was flat out wrong for this film. I saw it when it came out and saw it again yesterday, and realized part way through it that Cruise was wholly unlikable in this. I couldn't help but think Shannon would have been better off with Chase.

I like Cruise in some things; thought he did a good job in Jerry McGuire and was great in Top Gun, but I think he was just wrong for this movie. IMO it could have perhaps been a classic with a better (or more suitable) actor as Joseph.

Eh, I enjoyed the movie. People give Cruise/Kidman so much flack for the accents yet for some reason Liam Neeson being unable to even attempt an accent gets no notice.

They were both young, forced to perform under accents they simply couldn't handle. So, I for one, forgive their mistakes and continue to enjoy this movie every single time I catch it on TV. And when they stop airing it, I will dig up a DVD copy and continue my tradition of re-watching it once a year.
