Most People won't get this film-

they'll feel dissatisfied like possibly the best pizza they ever dined on, except it was undercooked. That's how the ending may seem, but it's all there that needs to be. Existentialist to the max? w-ever tf that means, but yes- and this psycho inner-twin thing that is maybe in everyone....
This one definitely goes into the short-list of Unknown Classic great films. It is a brilliantly written and shot film- nothing wasted, everything crafted for maximum punch. I saw it on Showtime some years back, and was intrigued by it. If you get the whole shebang in one watching, you're pretty tuned in, is all I can say. I will have to get the dvd at some future point when I need to see it.
Modine is an underappreciated actor, and I get the feeling all the actors in this enjoyed making it immensely. Great performances by Lara Flynn Boyle (what happened to her?), M.Emmet Walsh, Marisa Tomei and Lori Singer- a couple of hotties. Tyra Ferrell, Fred Ward....Gaillard Sartain.

It's not that hard to understand. And since it is the only movie that features an Elva Courier (Mk3) why is there no DVD release? What is the problem with Hollywood that it won't release DVDs?

This Movie cannot really be described with a simple review of the plot. What makes it special is the strong atmosphere, the feeling of being lost in a hostile environment that is the everyday life and the search for a way to get out of it all.

This is an underrated Classic and should be in line with films like Taxi Driver or Lost Highway.

I loved it. I wish they'd put it out on DVD. Or at least make it available for download.

I generally like films that "are not for everyone," but I found this a very tough nut to crack. It's beautifully filmed and well acted, but you're appreciation of this probably hinges on whether you like the two stories involving Matthew Modine (I did, to a point) and whether you care about the thread that ties them together (I didn't).

Alan Rudolph has made some spectacular films, but I don't think this is one of them. 6/10 stars from me, which is what the largest voting bloc gave this.

It isn't a difficult movie to understand but there really isn't that much to get. A far-fetched and unlikely story that was almost saved by decent acting.
