They were children for 6 minutes....

Wow, this movie was pathetic. The producers bragged about including the second half of the novel, then they went and chopped out the first half, which is the entire basis for the story. They were kids for 6 minutes; they were like "Hi, let's grow up together in 6 minutes! I'm sure everyone can just imagine the bond that we developed as children if they see 5 minutes of us as children.." This is the WORST of all the filmed adaptations of the Great novel. This was just obnoxious, tacky Hollywood trash.

I loved it!! Ralph Fiennes is to die for!!!!

As far as making a true accurate adaptation though, it think it should be a genuine miniseries. Six 2 hour installments for a total of 12 hours. And the thing that would really make it great would be to have three or four different sets of actors playing Heathcliff and Cathy. One set for when they first meet as children. Another set for their adolescent stage. Another set for their teenage years. And then either age the 3rd Heathcliff actor with prosthetics to middle age, or get a forth actor to play that part. The same for Ellen's character too. And the Linton's. And in a perfect fantasy world, have all of the Heathcliff's and all of the Cathy's be real life siblings so that they all look similar to one another. Oh that would definitely be my ultimate Wuthering Heights experience LOL!!!!
