I was about to come in here and ream you for going against Mainstreaming until I noticed that you were just against Peters. I watched "Graduating Peter" before this film I think you are correct that Peter was pushed to be put into mainstreaming, it seemed like his parents didn't understand that he wasn't high functioning to be in it. The worst part is you can see Peter doesn't have many friends and its hard on him. Some kids who can adapt very well to mainstreaming and there are children who can not and it seems like Peter isn't one that can adapt.
I speak from experience b/c I have a sister in law with DS and she was mainstreamed, but she adapted fine and holds a steady job, she still lives with her parents, but she doesn't need to be supervised like Peter does.
