Major Scenes Taken Out?

Since I've watched the television version recently, I've noticed a couple of scenes taken out that I do remember from this movie.

First, in the TV version they down play how much the mother destroys "the wall." In reality, when I first watched this movie, when it was first released, she destroyed everything in there. It was a much bigger scene than the few seconds they showed.

Secondly, Jim Carey's character said the line, "Every family is a dictatorship ruled by its sickest member." This has not been in the versions I've seen recently, either.

Any idea why that is? Does anyone know what scenes I'm talking about??
