A Good Family Drama

I enjoyed it when it aired one day on TV. The gay issue with Matt was interesting, especially considering he was planning to marry a woman and was living a lie about his true sexual orientation. Tim's chronic alcoholism was also riveting, but more should have been focused on that instead of the father constantly acting annoyed about it.

A lot of family problems constantly rose up in this movie with the dad coming across as ignorant and angry about it all. This would have made a good TV series as well. Too bad that never happened.

I agree. It was a fairly good TV film. The ending was a bit of a surprise with the father seemingly being more understanding. Terrific cast also. James Sikking was a vastly underrated actor

I'm only familiar with Sikking as Doogie Howser's father, but yes, he was very good here. Actually all of them were good. Great acting by everyone involved.
