This was a film I saw back in 1996 and all I could say was WOW. Jim Carrey, playing an alcholic in a very disfunctional family. This was a MOW, if I remember correctly and would love to see more great shows like this in the future. If anyone doubted Carrey's acting chops, (dramatic) this is where he knocks it out of the ballpark.

shareI concur! This is the most riveting dysfuctional family drama next to "Ordinary People" - which I also loved. Every actor was amazing in it. Actually, I really only like Jim Carrey in dramas, and I agree with the other poster that Carrey was excellent in this.
