I have just watched this film for the first time and thought it was great-however,there is something I am not sure on. What exactly happened during the operation to cause the mother to turn into murderer? I have watched the scene near the end a few times and can't work out what happened! Also,why did she kill her husband when he wasn't anything to do with this operation that went wrong? Many thanks!

There was a thunder storm during the surgery. Lightning had caused a black out and made the lightbulb explode. The doctor performing the surgery got distracted and accidentally decapitated the fetus. The group of doctors and nurses decided to use shock therapy to try and make Aura's mother forget the trauma but it didn't work. She remembered everything and decided to get revenge on all the doctors including her husband who was present during the surgery.
