What Went Wrong

Sarah produced the most delusional, self-absorbed children.

Why? She seems so grounded and they are flighty.

Philip especially was a really nasty piece of work.

Yeah, he was a real pig!

I wondered the same thing....

I call it rich kid syndrome....

trust me if you think he was a piece of work in the movie, he is worse in the book.

Philip if you remember went to live with his grandmother or I think he went to bording school in England. Perhaps that was why he was so arrogant. He was also the only child that spoke with an English accent.

Phillip. I think his attitude and being slotty came from him not having his father around for 4 years while William was at war and of course. The death of his sister, Lizzie. I think that's one of the main reasons. He was a b*stard. I wanted to kill him in the movie.

I think Sarah sees a little of herself in each of her children and she knew that she didn't want her children to marry the wrong person like she did, but Isabelle and Julian did anyway. They didn't know what their mother meant until it was too late. Both Isabelle's and Julian's spouses were after their money and Sarah knew that.

Xavier turned out good. He was bratty or slotty like his sister and older brother, Phillip.

Actually Julian was my favorite. I always like him and felt sorry for him when he found out about his wife.

Someone can be the most grounded person and raise their children the best they can do.....but when children reach a certain age...they become brain damaged and do stupid things. You heard Sarah one scene of the movie when she was talking to Emanuelle..."Why do my children make such foolish choices?"

Kids are going to do what they are going to do especially when they are young adults...fresh out of the teen years!
