she sleeps with him, but doesnt stay with him...her heart is with William. With that fact I had to go and read the book. I highly suggest it, in many situations people find the book better then the movie so go and read it!

I just finished reading the book, and in it there is no charles davenport, and she never slept with Joachim. she is alone at the end.
