MOVIES LIKE THIS,JUST DON'T GET MADE ANYMORE!!!

I REMEMBER WHEN I FIRST WATCHED THIS MOVIE I JUST COULDN'T BELIEVE HOW THIS MOVIE CAME AND WENT UNNOTICED.I MEAN MIKE BINDER MADE A MASTERPIECE HERE,AND BETWEEN THE CRITICS AND THE OSCAR COMMITTEE I STILL WONDER TO THIS DAY WHAT WERE THEY ACTUALLY THINKING WHEN THEY IGNORED THIS GREAT FILM.THE DIRECTION OF THIS FILM IS EXCELLENT,THE PACING IS GOOD TOO FOR A DRAMA.THIS IS ONE OF THOSE COMING OF AGE DRAMAS THAT REALLY TOUCHES YOU,AS YOU GET MORE AND MORE DRAWN INTO THE CHARACTERS.I THINK IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THIS LITTLE FILM,WHICH I'M SURE ALOT OF PEOPLE HAVEN'T,I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU CHECK THIS OUT,BECAUSE YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED.IT'S REALLY A SHAME THEY DON'T MAKE MORE MOVIES LIKE THIS ANYMORE.

This was a well acted film, but it was not in my opinion a good movie. I am so happy to see Stepan Baldwin and Jason Gedrick do such a good job. They don't get a lot of credit as good actors and I think this movie shows how good they are.

As a whole this was trying to be to many things and lost its soul. It did not give me enough in the set up to beleive the ending.

Jasons charactor coming up with why he did not want to go through with the deal. That was a well thought out grown up decision with a lot of self awareness, it did not ring true for me.

They were in line behind three cars for way to long as they figured out all these deep issues. All he had to do was have them figure it out somewhere else. They could have ditched the car anywhere and walked across. (five miles, two miles away from the border)

Smiling guy showing up at the mud bowl in a suit. What a set up that was.

Too many things like this ruined all the great ideas in this movie for me.

The writer narrating instead of the actor was lame.

The girl insisting he get out of her room and then screwing him to Tony Bennet?

I could go on and on and unfortunately the silly outweigh the good.

YOU'RE MAKING NO SENSE.MIKE BINDER WROTE THE STORY AND HE WAS THE NARRATOR OF IT.THE STORY IS BASED ON HIS OWN LIFE EXPERIENCES FROM HIS TEENAGER DAYS.SO AS AN ADULT NOW REFLECTING AND NARRATING ON HIS OWN YOUTH,IT MAKES PERFECT SENSE.AS FAR AS THEM TAKING TIME TO DECIDE TO DITCH THE CAR WITH ALL THAT TALK LEADING UP TO THE DECISION,THAT'S THE MOMENT IN THEIR BROING LIVES WHEN THEY GROW UP AND DECIDE TO BECOME ADULTS.EVERYONE HAS THIS POINT IN LIFE WHERE THEY MAKE IT.IT'S JUST DIFFERENT FOR EVERYONE.

I see you have not learned how to release the caps lock after all these years. I am sure others have complained to you that this is considered shouting.
The writing was weak and the situations implausible. The three friends were a few years beyond a standard coming of age type film, with peers in College. There were few shows of the kind of energy, optimism, and fun associated with this time of life. There was little mention or show of the opposite sex, yet this is a stage of life when sexual excess is usually the norm. For the most part the protagonist behaved as a jaded 50 yr old. I found nothing inspiring about this film and too little to like.
