"Cronos" reminded me of "Let the Right One In"

I personally thought both movies were pretty great.

The underlying story in "Cronos" is held together by the relationship between Gris and his granddaughter Aurora, and it is here the film draws striking similarities to "Let the Right One In" (2008), which was held together by relationship between Eli and Oskar.

Two movies share some similar elements: relationship between a vampire and the mortal, deadly grim, sadness, attachment, goth, and some sinister undertones.

Both movies are not really about the plot; they are about the characters and their relationships. There is something fragile, yet poignant about them. Sometimes sad, sometimes humorous, the characters in both films are excellent in portraying their journey from their own perspective.
