Charlotte Very

Not one of Rohmer's greatest films, but I was captivated by the beauty of the lead actress, Charlotte Very.

It would be interesting to see what other films she has been in.

Loved her in Bleu, and now it has me craving to see more of her!

"Not one of Rohmer's greatest movies!!!?" You have got to be joking! This movie was a most stunning accomplishment. I didn't warm to Conte d'Ete, for the reasons which I posted on its board, but all is forgiven (and more) now that I've watched this one.

Brilliant, and nothing less than brilliant.

Re Charlotte Very - not only was she beautiful but she carried the role with the most remarkable plausibility. It was hard to believe that she was acting at all.

lol, and there you go - Conte d'Ete is one of my favourites. Goes to show how subjective some of this stuff is. I still feel exactly the same about this one a couple of years later, and I've now seen all but one of Rohmer's films.

In my opinion how you take this film depends on your personal situation. I have waited 14 years for the woman I love and am still waiting. Some see the ending as satisfying I see it as unrealistic. A good film, nothing more, nothing less.

I'm glad they finally got Internet in opposite land

I don't remember writing this post at all! But anyway, I guess I was mostly focused on his assessment of the film, which is my favorite of the Tales of the 4 Seasons and hence one of my favorites overall. I don't remember this Very lady at all, but maybe compared to the other attractive Rohmer girls she didn't stand up very well for me. I don't remember enough to say much about the other elements of the film.
