My alternative ending

The last 3 scenes would be of them driving down a city street, he pulls the car over and stops. She looks at him curiously and he says to her, "Remember telling me in jail that you couldn't be a good mother and a good wife....well, I need someone who can be both....get out!". The next scene he's then seen driving away smiling, leaving her standing at the curb. The last scene would be the same as the movie, showing him driving to his new house. Perfect ending in my book.

I agree. She was evil and insane to not believe her own husband. The only witness he could possibly have, his own wife, and she doesn't believe him.

And Kevin Kine's LAWYER....I've NEVER liked E. G. Marshall. In the few films of his I've seen, he always plays some type of bastard...and he takes the cake here. He just sat there regurgitating what I guess was the police report to Kevin Kline, and reciting everything from it, completely ignoring everything Kevin Kline had to say. He just grunted and kept on reading aloud.

And later, when he told Kevin he was "too old" to do something about the new evidence he had....the recording of Spacey's wife's voice, he was completely obnoxious. He knew she was still alive, and that the woman he murdered was someone else...yet even with that, E.G. Marshall indicated he was too OLD to bother pursuing it. Kline just looked at him, and then pulled him by the collar, telling him he was an "old man".

He was...a piggish, LAZY, uncaring, useless old-man, has-been attorney. I so hated him.

Nice alternative ending Rp . . . I too wouldn't have a taken her betraying-ass back, and would be reminding her of that betrayal for the rest of her life. I went to see this movie at the theater back then and left seething afterwards.

i think the best plot should have been considering the time when it was released, the wife and kevin specy teamed up to conspire the murder of kevin specy's wife and framing Kevin Kline for murder.in this way it would have been a twist movie which came unexpected from no where.but in this movie when we see Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio living with kevin spacy after her husband is charged with murder, for a while i got tone that she is also helping kevin in conspiracy.but when kevin kline confronts her and gives her tape to play in front of kevin spacy she did as she was told.so seeing the circumstance the case with wife conspiring would have fit more correctly than whatever is shown in the movie.

Yes, it would have made much more sense (and been much more noir-ish) for Priscilla to have been in on the scheme with Eddy to murder Kay. The way the film actually is she comes off as the dumbest woman who ever breathed.
