I agree. She was evil and insane to not believe her own husband. The only witness he could possibly have, his own wife, and she doesn't believe him.
And Kevin Kine's LAWYER....I've NEVER liked E. G. Marshall. In the few films of his I've seen, he always plays some type of bastard...and he takes the cake here. He just sat there regurgitating what I guess was the police report to Kevin Kline, and reciting everything from it, completely ignoring everything Kevin Kline had to say. He just grunted and kept on reading aloud.
And later, when he told Kevin he was "too old" to do something about the new evidence he had....the recording of Spacey's wife's voice, he was completely obnoxious. He knew she was still alive, and that the woman he murdered was someone else...yet even with that, E.G. Marshall indicated he was too OLD to bother pursuing it. Kline just looked at him, and then pulled him by the collar, telling him he was an "old man".
He was...a piggish, LAZY, uncaring, useless old-man, has-been attorney. I so hated him.
