Worst ever episode of Colombo
I don't know what they were thinking. Absolutely nothing in this show had anything in common with Colombo. None of the cat-and -mouse. It had Peter Falk in a tux; later in the raincoat, but carrying a gun.
shareIt's an alternative Columbo, but it's not as different as you say. It starts with a kidnapping rather than a murder and becomes a Whodunit before it becomes a Howcatchem. The rumpled Lieutenant has no cat-and-mouse with the kidnapper, true, but the episode creates quality suspense in observing how Columbo & his team can figure out who the culprit is, locate his whereabouts, and, hopefully, rescue the girl.
