when was 'stupid' considered a compliment?

I don't remember that at all.

Back in the 80's.

We used phrases like "Yo, that is stupid fresh" or "Dumb Wack". Just a variation of "dumb" really... we used "retarded" too.

I was born in 78 so I grew up in the 80s. Well I remember loving Huey Lewis and the News that's for sure. But I don't remember ever telling someone something they said was stupid.

I grew up in the 90's, I remember people saying stuff like Stupid and Retarded.

In "Lean on Me" with Morgan Freeman, a kid tells another kid to buy his girlfriend some "stupid gold." I guess it just wasn't a term that was widespread.

Thanks for the personal message but you didn't finish it. You typed to me "U beep" and you meant to say "U beeped my mom."

i was born in 81 and i remember hearing this back around the late 80s and early 90s. it was an urban slang at the time.

Back in the early 90's, people used to add the word "stupid" in front of another word to enhance it. For example, "You got a stupid-ride, yo! Those wheels are slammin'!" Just the way some people talked back then.
