Very stupid but also very fun. Definitely not his best movie though.

Well, personal, this movie is a lotta fun, but far from the best.

The best is still Police Story.

Project A & Police story

Who am I (like the girl in the skirt) was very good... Police story was also very good, but gets a little slow at times...

I think Project A: Part II and Police Story are his best. This is very funny, but I found it got a little too silly at times.

Sure It's Entertaining but Police Story And Project A Are Much Better.

I agree totally, Police Story 1 & 2 (the third and the forth doesn't have the same feeling at all) and project A 1 & 2 are the best Jackie Chan movies.

City hunter-very stupid and very bad film

reply

It definitely isn't Jackie's best film. However it is utterly brilliant (though some of it may understandably not be to everyone's taste) and I love it to bits. And Gary Daniels is a bad dude.

are you guys out of your fing minds?! this movie is a gigantic turd. it is nowhere near project a 1+2, police story 1 + 2, wheels on meals, dragons forever, armour of god 2, who am i...etc

i can't understand how you can overlook how lame this movie is. bad jokes, bad comedic timing, bad midi like music in the background. cmon...what is redeeming about this movie? something can't be so unclever that it becomes clever. this thing should have a 3 but it's got a 6.5 ...what am i missing here? is it so bad that it's good or is it just silly stupid funny that you have to love it?

TELL ME WTF!!

^^ I'm sure you'll never see this comment considering it's been 5 years and this movie board is pretty dead BUT... did you NOT see the STREET FIGHTER scene with Jackie Chan dressed as Chun Li? lol... that little jem alone makes the movie worth it for me.

This kind of movie is refreshing, because it's:

- Completely unnecessarily crazy
- Nicely colorful
- Has lots of asian beauties in it
-Although typically misandristic, it has tons of atypical equality as well (women get actually punched by men -- this is an extremely rare sight in hollyweird movies, but why should it be, since women are better than men at everything and can do everything men can do (except apparently take punches?))

- Ridiculously over-the-top
- A movie that has Joey Wong (or is it Joey Wang, Wang Tsu Hsien, or Joey Ong Jyo Han/Hen? These chinese transliterations are such a mess) in it. She's not as 'mythical beauty' as she's in 'A Chinese Ghost Story', but still proper eyecandy
- Jackie Chan playing a hungry pervert (you don't usually see that - err, ok, I just remembered some very old movies, like 'Drunken Master')

As Jackie Chan's movies are all bad (before you kung-fu punch me, think about it - would you still watch the movies if ALL kung-fu and Jackie's stunts were removed from them?), we only have the fight scenes and kung-fu to judge them by.

And the best fight scenes are in 'Who Am I', 'First Strike', 'Snake in the Eagle's Shadow', 'Legend of the Drunken Master', 'Fearless Hyena' (just look at that fight against multiple 'sword-spearmen' (I don't know what those things are called)!), and.. sigh, in the name of honesty, I have to also mention that _awful_ movie that I hate more than any other, 'Gorgeous', because its fight scenes are just immaculate, despite being so new.

City Hunter is like a live-action cartoon and I still don't 100% know what to think about it. It messes with your mind with its gorgeous women that then are shown to be realistically overpowered and typically misandristic, but then our protagonist beats the clothes out of a group of gorgeous women... it's like, WHAT did I just see? And then suddenly Jackie is Chun-Li, and that's so weird - but the fight scene is so well done, you don't know what to do.
