Chekist definitely invites comparison with Schindler's List (which came out a year later, by the way). It was interesting to watch how the communist killing machine worked. I was especially impressed by the amount of naked people there were on screen. How on earth were they able to get all these extras to undress for the camera? And these heaps of dead naked bodies looked very realistic, I suspect that the dead bodies were also played by real people (not dummies, because the Russian film industry of the time was probably not able to create such realistic dummies). The extras of this film deserve respect for letting themselves be hanged from feet, naked.
