disturrbing while I was young....funny as an adult

That's something strange I noticed about this film. When I was younger I considered this the most disturbing film I have ever seen. Watching it as an adult, I find myself laughing more often than jaw dropping over its bold and grotesque nature. Some of the scenes still feel dismally macabre (the death of the child)....yet many other scenes I find myself breaking out in laughter after watching them.

Am I f---ked in the head? or does anyone else agree?

Nah I find this pretty hilarious, up until the rape scene and bar the bit with the child that you mention. If you're f---ked in the head then so am I, because I think this film is truly hilarious in places, it has a very potent message too.

I agree. I saw the film on release and found it interesting but warped. It's still warped but it's f/cking hilarious aside from the rape scene, which I found disturbing because the crew participate thus suggesting (maybe even confirming) that all men are content rape under the right circumstances.

You definitely are not alone in thinking this film is funny as *beep*
The first time around I thought it was horrible but later I saw that it is meant to be funny. Benoit (the killer) went on to have an amazing carrier as a comedic actor because of this breakout role.
This is not a film for serious intellectual types.
Other than the obvious parts that make you uneasy, the rest is hilarious!
I absolutely love this actor and this movie.
I think they spent a ridiculously small amount of money to make it too.
Too bad they all died at the end!

Uh yes it is. Someone who isn't intellectual won't even get every single reference or what certain scenes are supposed to parodize. Also, I consider myself exactly that and I found it hilarious.
