by making Ben racist and anti-gay. It would have been much more effective if they'd left that stuff out and stuck to the theme of "nice pleasant serial killer with lots of friends."

Sure. Killing people is relatively OK, but using words like 'kike' or 'faggot' is a Big No-No!
