A must see

I saw this movie because I was interested in its subject matter, but I ending up loving it as a piece of brilliant film-making. Erol Morris' movies always push the boundaries of what most people consider "merely" a documentary, and A Brief History of Time is no exception. This movie is a must see for any directors looking to tackle a weighty and often intellectual complex subject matter.

Incidentally, there is a piece of music that plays right as Stephen's mother is talking about riding into London during the night of the blackout - where she says it was a completely starry night and the shot changes to a star map - that I would very much like to know what it is called. Thank in advance.

Do I contradict myself?
Very well then, I contradict myself.

wasn't all the music by Philip Glass?

It was a good introduction on Hawking as well as his work.

Its that man again!!

It's a decent biopic, but it's no scientific documentary. And I think that's what a lot of us were expecting.

No, I very much disagree. We get some of the basics of Hawking's theory, but nothing much beyond that. None of the math is explained, just off handedly referenced.

I saw it today on DVD. Amazing film about Hawking. Anyone interested in the origin of the universe among other thing must see it. Hawking was absolutely brilliant.
