Why was his character completely removed from the TV version? I can understand removing the topless brides or the scene where Dracula feeds his brides a baby but what was so objectionable about Renfield's character in general?

If I had to guess, it just cut down the runtime. You could remove him and still understand the movie.

They should probably have cut large sections (the entirety?) of Dracula and Mina go to the movies, then.

I was referring to the TV version that was aired in 1997, 4 months ago. I never said I watched the TV version for the first time when I made the post, you moron.

Who cares what aired in 1997. Movies on commercial TV edit scenes all the time to allot for more commercials. Everyone knows that. I mean everyone but you
